WHITE PLAINS -
Westchester County officials announced Thursday that gun shows will not be returning to the Westchester County Center in 2018.
Members of the County Board of Legislators passed a bill back in January that would have banned gun shows on county property, but the measure was vetoed by County Executive Rob Astorino.
A few days after the veto, Westchester hosted a gun show at the County Center in White Plains. Since then, there has been speculation that the county was going to host another show in 2018. In fact, the company that puts on the show had it on their schedule of events up until October.
It has since been taken down.
A county spokesman says there is no contract for a gun show at County Center next year, and one is not being authorized.
News 12 reached out to the organizers of the gun show at the Westchester County Center, but has not heard back so far.
